Mark Richt, head football coach, was recognized in April by the Georgia House of Representatives.
Introduced by House Speaker David Ralston, House Resolution 2103 cited Richt for his success as the Bulldogs’ head coach. Richt also visited with Gov. Sonny Perdue while at the Capitol.
Richt has led the football team to 90 victories in his first nine seasons, including SEC titles in 2002 and 2005. He is one of only seven coaches in NCAA Division I history to record 90 or more wins in his first nine seasons.
