Mediation project

Mediation of conflicts is available through the university’s Mediation Project.

Mediation is a voluntary, informal alternative to adversarial proceedings such as grievances or litigation. The process allows people to resolve disputes for themselves in a mutually acceptable way with the assistance of neutral, third-party mediators. The purpose of mediation is not to determine who wins and loses but rather to help parties reach their own practical, workable solutions to problems. Mediators are trained UGA faculty, staff and administrators.

Mediation is totally voluntary and is available to all members of the university community.

Anyone interested in using the services of the Mediation Project should contact Art Leed in Legal Affairs by phone (542-0006) or e-mail (aleed@uga.edu).
