The Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities is accepting nominations until Jan. 9 for the seventh annual UGA Excellence in Undergraduate Research Mentoring Awards. The awards recognize outstanding individuals who consistently make a concerted effort to involve undergraduates in research and foster the enrichment of the undergraduate learning experience.
The Early Career Excellence in Undergraduate Research Mentor Award is given to a faculty member with five to 10 years of teaching and research experience. The Master Undergraduate Research Mentor Award is given to a faculty member with 10 or more years of teaching and research experience at UGA. The recipients of each award will receive $500 that may be used to provide further support for undergraduate research endeavors.
A selection committee of faculty from across UGA will review the nomination portfolios. For a copy of the nomination guidelines, contact Pam Kleiber, associate director of the Honors Program and CURO, at pkleiber@uga.edu or (706) 542-5871.
