To prevent foreclosure and to stop its properties from being sold at an auction, Morris Brown College has filed for federal bankruptcy protection, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Stanley J. Pritchett, president of the historically black college in Atlanta, said the move would give the college—which lost its accreditation a decade ago and is more than $30 million in debt—time to regroup.
