New fitness classes, programs

The Ramsey Student Center will hold Fitness Free Week Aug. 13-19 for members to try some of the more than 130 group fitness classes at no charge. Classes include dance, boxing, martial arts, yoga, weight lifting, cycling and more. New group fitness classes for the fall include “BOSU Blast,” a strength training class based around a Bosu Balance Ball; “Attack and Pump Fusion,” 30 minutes of Bodyattack followed by 30 minutes of Bodypump; “X-Fit,” a CrossFit-inspired class with Olympic lifts, plyometrics and cardiovascular exercises at a high intensity; “Mindfulness Yoga,” “Jazz Dance” and “Weekend Warrior Boxing.”

The All Access fitness schedule and the Instructional Programs schedule will be available at no charge during Free Week. Additional information is online at www.recsports.uga.edu/aerobics.php. New outdoor programs also will be offered starting this fall: fly fishing, Zip-a-thon, a paddling clinic, a backpacking clinic, a scuba rescue diver course and a few new trips.
