The U.S. Postal Service will increase costs for first class, media, library and nonprofit postage on Jan. 27.
The price for the first-class mail letter weighing 1 ounce or less will increase from $0.50 to $0.55. The rate for a first-class mail flats/large envelope weighing 1 ounce will remain at the current $1 rate and postcards will remain at $0.35.
Price increases for shipping services products will vary by product, with priority mail increasing 5.9 percent, and priority mail express increasing 3.9 percent.
