New York University announced plans to increase its physical campus by 40 percent over the next 20 years, The New York Times reported.
The expansion, the largest in the school’s history, will include 3 million square feet of new classrooms, residence halls and offices in Greenwich Village, a new engineering school in Brooklyn and a satellite campus on Governors Island, N.Y. Though the institution has often clashed with neighbors and historic preservation groups about past expansions, officials announced that the new plans take local interest into account.New York University announced plans to increase its physical campus by 40 percent over the next 20 years, The New York Times reported.
