The Office of Online Learning is accepting proposals to encourage the development of innovative, high-quality, fully online offerings of high-demand courses.
These online courses are intended to provide faculty and students with flexibility in meeting their educational and scholarly goals and to increase summer enrollment in undergraduate courses.
Faculty (tenure track, lecturers and academic professionals) whose proposals are selected will be recognized as UGA Online Learning Fellows and receive $5,000 per three or more credit-hour course to support course development. These funds may be used for scholarly support during the 2013 fiscal year or as Maymester salary. Fellows will follow a structured timeline for course development and participate in activities such as consultations with instructional designers, workshops and peer working groups, which will be provided throughout the spring semester. The newly developed courses will be offered to students in the 2013 summer thru session.
Interested faculty can complete an application online at http://ugaonline.uga.edu/. Faculty also should submit a letter of support from their department head or immediate supervisor. Applications are due by Nov. 9. Recipients will be notified on or before Nov. 29.
