Wild Ride: Artistic Lessons of Nature by Eric Strauss, an outdoor sculpture exhibition on the grounds of the Performing and Visual Arts Complex, is on display until April 22 at the Georgia Museum of Art. A total of 18 works make up Wild Ride, Strauss’ largest body of work ever assembled for an exhibition. Nine of those are on display at the Georgia Museum of Art.
The title for this exhibition reflects Strauss’ inspiration for many of his works. He spent a significant portion of his life residing on dairy farms, blueberry farms and even in a cypress swamp, and his interaction with those natural environments affected his work. Combining different textures and surfaces, Strauss presents the viewer with simple yet challenging meanings to his works.
