Beginning Aug. 20, the Performing Arts Center will offer faculty, staff and students a priority purchase period to order tickets for the 2007–2008 season. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Aug. 27.

Information on all events is also available on the Performing Arts Center’s Web site (www.uga.edu/pac). Open weekdays from 9 a.m.–5 p.m., the box office is located at 230 River Road in the Performing and Visual Arts Complex.
The Performing Arts Center brings some of the world’s finest musicians to Athens with a roster that includes the State Symphony Orchestra of Mexico, violinist Midori, Sweden’s Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra, classical guitarist Christopher Parkening, Hotlanta Dixieland Jazz, the vocal ensemble Chanticleer and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Classical, contemporary and folk dance also will be showcased with Ballet Folklorico de Mexico, the Atlanta Ballet, the Georgian State Dance Company, Kanata Native Dance Theater, Tango Buenos Aires and the St. Petersburg State Ballet Theatre.
Stage and screen star Mickey Rooney will open the Performing Arts Center’s 2007–2008 season on Oct. 5 in Let’s Put on a Show! with his wife, Jan Rooney.
