The country of Peru plans to sue Yale University over artifacts taken by a researcher more than 100 years ago, The Chronicle of Higher Education reported.
Although no date has been set for when the suit will be filed, Peru’s Justice Ministry has promised to assign a prosecutor to press the government’s case. The materials in question are thousands of Incan artifacts excavated at Machu Picchu. The university and the country reached an agreement last year about the materials, although the details have been debated ever since, the Chronicle reported.
