Rosemary Phelps, professor and head of the department of counseling and human development services, was named a Fellow of the American Psychological Association for her outstanding career contributions on a national level to defined areas in psychology. Her sponsorship for Fellow is through the Society of Counseling Psychology.
She was honored at the association’s convention held in August in Washington, D.C.
Phelps’ research focuses on multicultural training issues and concerns, racial and ethnic identity development, recruitment and retention of African-American students in higher education, mentoring, and professional development of graduate students.
