Danny Hollingsworth, the executive vice president and chief financial officer for Carson-Newman College in Jefferson, Tenn., has been named the next president of Piedmont College, effective June 1. Hollingsworth will succeed Ray Cleere, who is retiring in May after serving the Demorest-based college for more than 16 years.
Piedmont is a private, liberal arts college that serves more than 2,500 students in two locations, including a campus in Athens off Prince Avenue.
