A New York Times article focusing on recent findings that quercetin, a flavanoid that has long been thought to enhance athletic performance, has been shown to be no more effective than a placebo quoted Kirk Cureton, a professor kinesiology at UGA. Cureton’s research led to the finding.
“We were surprised,” Cureton said. “But my conclusion is that it just is not ergogenic in humans. The moral is that you can’t generalize from mouse studies to humans.”
