Prediabetes test

More than 1 in 3 adults in the U.S. have prediabetes, and 90% don’t even know they have it. Could you be one of them? There is an easy way to find out if you or a loved one may have prediabetes: take a 1-minute risk test at www.cdc.gov/prediabetes/takethetest/. If you are at high risk, print or email your risk test results to share with your health care provider, who can confirm a prediabetes diagnosis with a simple blood test.

This fall, UGA Well-being in partnership with UGA Extension, the Georgia Department of Public Health and the CDC, will be offering a free Diabetes Prevention Program on campus. If you are interested in reducing your risk of developing Type 2 diabetes by participating in this program, attend an informational meeting at the Training & Development Center on Aug. 20 from 3-4 p.m. Register for the meeting through the Professional Education Portal at pep.uga.edu. If you are unable to attend the meeting, but are interested in participating, email wellbeing@uga.edu for additional information.
