Athens, Ga. – Visual artist Jonathan Bouknight will be lecturing Friday, Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. at the University of Georgia’s Lamar Dodd School of Art, room S 365. The lecture will by followed by an opening reception for his exhibition “(study for) Mother-Me-Do” on display at the Georgia Society for Contemporary Painters, Graduate Drawing and Painting Gallery Nov. 13-27.
Bouknight works across a variety of visual media including drawing, sculpture and photography. His work references mythology, history, pop culture, and science in search of the roots of culture’s collective attitude towards gender, sexuality, fecundity, and personal freedom of identity.
