Richard LaFleur, Franklin Professor of classics and coordinator of the Elementary Latin Program, received professional accolades from two organizations.
He was honored as Post-Secondary Foreign Language Teacher of the Year by the Southern Conference on Language Teaching at its annual conference in Atlanta in March, and he also has been notified by the American Classical League that he will receive that group’s Meritus Award “for sustained and distinguished service to the classics profession” at its annual institute in Nashville in June.
