Proposals for papers and presentations are being sought for the National Outreach Scholarship Conference 2005, scheduled for Oct. 2-4, at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education. The conference is jointly sponsored by the University of Georgia, Pennsylvania State University and the University of Wisconsin-Extension.
The conference theme, “Transformation through Engagement,” focuses on ways in which academic and public service faculty and staff can change the environments in which they function. Societal problems are not static and, therefore, solutions cannot be static. To be effective, the engaged institution must continuously transform itself to address changing societal needs.
Proposals are welcome from university faculty and staff, university and community leaders, graduate students, and outreach practitioners. The deadline for submission is Feb. 10.
