Sheneka Williams, an assistant professor in the College of Education’s lifelong education, administration and policy department, has been named associate director for policy and advocacy for the University Council for Educational Administration, a consortium of higher education institutions committed to advancing the preparation and practice of educational leaders for the benefit of schools and children.
In this role Williams will promote UCEA through policy advocacy work by influencing the organization’s policy agenda, developing coalitions with other national education organizations and of educational leadership policy faculty, and engaging UCEA leadership faculty in the policy process through the development of research briefs, policy reviews and legislative visits to Washington, D.C.
