To mark its recent 50th anniversary, Enterprise Information Technology Services has launched a new Web site chronicling the “50 Years of Computing at UGA: 1957–2007.”
Featuring old black-and-white photographs of some of the first computing machines on campus as well as current color photographs, the site breaks down the progress EITS has made in past five decades from the first data analyzer at Experiment Station to current Web-based initiatives like IT-TV, which feature short computer-related videos.
Highlights of each decade are mentioned, from keypunch machines to the modern research computing center, and accompanied by photo galleries.
