The State Botanical Garden once again will ring in the holidays with an open house.
The annual Holiday Open House will be held Dec. 8 from 2-5 p.m. in the garden’s Visitor Center and Conservatory. Attendees will be able to celebrate the holiday season and enjoy the tropical conservatory filled with seasonal décor during the free event.
The open house will include holiday music performed by the Georgia Children’s Chorus, the Solstice Sisters and the Classic City Band. The Georgia Children’s Chorus will perform at 2:15 p.m. The Solstice Sister will play at 3:15 p.m. The Classic City Band will close the musical portion of the event starting at 4 p.m.
Children can watch a puppet show about nature at 2:30, 3:30 and 4:30 p.m.
Throughout the open house, children will be able to share their wishes with Santa and Mrs. Claus and get a photo with the couple taken by Mark Parsons Photography. The garden shop will be open and includes a selection of books, locally crafted pottery and jewelry, children’s items, ornaments and gifts.
Hot chocolate and treats also will be available from Donderos’ Kitchen.
