Steve Dempsey, associate vice president for public service and outreach, has been named chairman of the Council on Engagement and Outreach for the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities. He assumed the chairmanship Jan. 1.
The Council on Engagement and Outreach comprises university administrators and staff members responsible for extension, continuing education and public service at A-P-L-U member institutions, of which UGA is one.
The council provides formal and informal forums for members to discuss relevant issues; professional development and networking opportunities; and assistance with plans, programs and policies that will enhance the engagement and outreach efforts of association members.
