Stolen computers at University of Minnesota held student, alumni data

Records from more than 13,000 students and alumni of the University of Minnesota might have been lifted from two university-owned computers stolen in August, according to the Associated Press.

Information from Social Security numbers to addresses of students dating back to 1991 could have been stolen, though no evidence of the threat has been found, school officials said. The computers were taken during a nighttime break-in at an office on the Minneapolis campus.
