Susan Wilde, assistant professor and lead principal investigator, and Rebecca Haynie, postdoctoral research associate in the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources, received $12,601 from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to investigate the potential harm of toxic algae to the Florida Snail Kite, an endangered bird that lives in freshwater areas and primarily feeds on apple snails.
