The Georgia chapter of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese has named Teresa Pérez-Gamboa, an academic professional in Romance languages, as an outstanding teacher at the university level for 2006.
In selecting Pérez-Gamboa as professor of the year, the executive board of Georgia AATSP commended her active participation in programs designed to enhance foreign language learning throughout the state. The professor of the year selection was announced formally at the AATSP chapter meeting during the annual conference of the Foreign Language Association of Georgia. Anita R. Picas presented the commemorative plaque to Pérez-Gamboa during an assembly of her UGA teaching colleagues.
