Three finalists have been selected for the position of associate vice president for human resources at UGA. They are:
- Sam Connally, associate vice president for human resources and diversity initiatives at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas;
- Thomas Gausvik, chief human resource officer at the University of Virginia; and
- Margaret (Peg) Gorman, director of human resources at Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, Pa.
The candidates will visit UGA during the next three weeks to meet with university administrators, human resources staff and departmental representatives and members of Staff Council and University Council.
The candidates were identified in a national search conducted by a committee of faculty and staff. Committee Chair Holley Schramski, associate vice president for finance and administration, said the goal is to have the position filled by
Oct. 1. The new associate vice president will succeed Andy Brantley, who left UGA at the end of June to become chief executive officer of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources. Duane Ritter, director of the department of employment, compensation and records in the Human Resources division, is serving as interim associate vice president.
