Athens, Ga. – The University of Georgia College of Pharmacy Class of 2014 has a record number of 144 students enrolled in the four-year doctor of pharmacy curriculum. It is the largest class in the College’s 107-year history.
The new class, which is 71 percent female, has a 3.52 grade point average and an average Pharmacy College Admission Test composite score in the 80th percentile. Minorities represent 33 percent of the class; out-of-state students represent 2 percent of the class; 31 percent have a previous bachelor of science degree or higher and 55 percent previously attended UGA..
The beginning of their pharmacy careers was commemorated with a White Coat ceremony where each student received a white lab coat as a symbol of entry into the pharmacy profession. The annual event, which was sponsored by Kroger Pharmacy, featured a program and a reception for new students and their parents.
