UGA Health Center provides wellness workshops

Athens, Ga. – On Tuesday Sept. 15, the University of Georgia Health Center will kick off the Fall Semester Wellness Series. Staff from the health promotion and counseling and psychiatric services departments will provide a series of 12 one-hour workshops in the Tate Student Center. Workshops are free to currently enrolled students and are blue card events. Details on each workshop are available at http://www.uhs.uga.edu/healthpromotion/wellness.html.

The Wellness Series was developed to educate and support the holistic wellness of UGA students. The workshops are designed to educate students on the importance holistic health, build skills to enhance healthy behaviors, and provide tools that are applicable to the challenges of college life. Workshop topics include healthy relationships, nutrition, stress management, sleep, risk reduction associated with alcohol, body image, breast/testicular cancer awareness, HIV/AIDS risks and stigma, and managing holiday stress.
