UGA Lamar Dodd School of Arts hosts BFA II

Athens, Ga.- The University of Georgia Lamar Dodd School of Art will host its Bachelor of Fine Arts Exit Show Dec. 3-13, featuring work by graduating BFA students in fabric design, jewelry and metals, printmaking and photography. A reception for the show will be held Friday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. outside galleries 101 and 307. The reception is free, and the public is invited to attend.

Final portfolio selections from a total of 20 BFA students will be exhibited at the show, including works from 13 photography majors, five printmaking majors, one fabric design major, and one jewelry and metals major. The show will display a wide range of art, including photographs, videos, screen prints, printed sculptures, large-scale wall installations and an interactive sculptural fabric piece.

“The exit show is a great opportunity for our graduating students to share with their friends, parents and the public what they’ve learned during their four years in school,” said Jeffrey Whittle, the gallery director for the school of art. “It is important to recognize the hard work the BFA students have put forth, as well as the amazing art that has resulted from their efforts.”

Among the students highlighted in the show are: Ashley Doliber, Savannah, Ga.; Alex Palmour, Summerville, Ga.; Andrea Tabacchi, Gainesville, Ga.; Andrew Ferrer, Atlanta, Ga.; Anna King, Jefferson, Ga.; Candace Frieden, Athens, Ga.; Carolyne Teston, Dahlonega, Ga.; Chelsea Elliott, Jefferson, Ga.; Danessa Reyes, Athens, Ga.; Erin Freeman, Sugar Hill, Ga.; Margaret George, Marietta, Ga.; Jeff Gess, Decatur, Ga.; Jessica Caldas, Atlanta, Ga.; Kate Lindsey, Atlanta, Ga.; Mallory Ingram, Acworth, Ga.; and Sara Nguyen, Snellville, Ga. Each student’s work represents the culmination of years of study and practice, as well as a variety of perspectives and techniques for artistic expression.
