UGA Libraries to host Sept. 4 reading by former UGA staffer Phil Williams

Author Philip Lee Williams will read from his autobiography It Is Written: My Life in Letters Sept. 4 at 5 p.m. at the Richard B. Russell Building Special Collections Libraries.

Williams’ personal papers, which he has given to UGA’s Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, are available for research. It Is Written will be published Sept. 1 by Mercer University Press. Copies will be available for purchase at the reading.

A native of Athens, Williams grew up in Madison and graduated from UGA in 1972. He spent the last 27 years of his career as a science writer at UGA before retiring as an assistant dean in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences.
