Athens, Ga. – The University of Georgia Observatory will host public viewing nights on Friday, Sept. 18 at 9 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 23 at 8 p.m.
The telescope is atop the physics building on UGA’s South Campus. Other viewing dates for this fall are Monday, Nov. 16 and Friday, Dec. 11, both at 7:30 p.m. The Monday evening viewing in November was chosen because that is the height of the Leonid Meteor Shower.
If it is cloudy on Sept. 18, there will be a talk titled “The Milky Way Galaxy: Our Stellar Home.”
The events are all free and open to the public.
