Athens, Ga. – University of Georgia President Jere W. Morehead will meet with Archway Partnership professionals and county leaders during a visit to Sandersville on July 29.
The visit is intended to strengthen the relationship between UGA and Washington County and showcase the work that the community has done through the partnership to boost economic development.
Who: In addition to Morehead, attendees from Washington County will include Archway Professional Kim Jackson, Archway Executive Committee Chairman Theo McDonald, County Commissioner Chris Hutchings, Dr. Jean Sumner from the Georgia Rural Medical School program based in Washington County for Mercer University Medical School students, Dr. Lloyd Horaden, who heads the LPN to RN program at Oconee Fall Line Technical College, Joy Norris from the Boys and Girls Clubs advisory committee, Jennifer Tatum from the county board of education and Sandersville Mayor Pro-Tem Jeffers Smith.
What: An overview of the Washington County Archway Partnership program, which began in 2007.
