The University Council unanimously approved the creation of a College of Engineering at its April 26 meeting.
The new college officially opens July 1, when the new fiscal year starts. The college will use instructors from the university’s Faculty of Engineering and department of biological and agricultural engineering and will confer all 15 of the university’s current engineering degrees. A dean will be named later.
