Athens, Ga. – High school students and their parents are invited to learn more about post-secondary opportunities available in Athens-Clarke County and surrounding communities at the third annual Colleges in Your Backyard program on Jan. 15. The University of Georgia Office of Undergraduate Admissions is hosting the event, which is free and open to the public, from 3-5 p.m. at the UGA Chapel.
The Colleges in Your Backyard program was developed to provide local students and their parents with information about the college admissions process and how to apply for scholarships and financial aid.
The event will feature a panel discussion with representatives from the UGA Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Office of Student Financial Aid as well as Gainesville State College, Athens Technical College and Piedmont College.
A mini college fair will immediately follow the panel discussion in Terrell Hall, where the UGA Office of Undergraduate Admissions is located.
Free parking will be available in the North Campus Parking Deck, located on South Jackson Street across from Terrell Hall.
