UGA has been selected as the host site for South Atlantic Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls 2010 conference, Oct. 29-31.
The SAACURH is a member of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls Inc., the largest student-run corporation in the world that attempts to improve communities within college residence halls by providing network opportunities through conferences and other resources designed to help schools improve their residence hall organizations.
The affiliate consists of college and university residence hall governments in the southeastern region, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. The annual conference is attended by approximately 60 schools and 600 delegates and advisers. The last time UGA hosted the conference was in 2000.
Campus facilities, including the Ramsey Student Center, the Tate Student Center and the Miller Learning Center, will be used throughout the weekend.
UGA students spent more than a year preparing the bid to host the conference. Those interested in volunteering for the conference can contact the UGA Residence Hall Association at rha@uga.edu.
