The University of Virginia will guarantee admission to all qualified students from the state’s 23 community colleges, according to a recent article in the Chronicle for Higher Education. The plan will allow students from Virginia’s community college system to enroll in UVA’s College of Arts and Sciences. According to the article, participants must have earned an associate degree from a Virginia Community College within two years of applying to the university, maintained a 3.4 or higher grade point average and meet the area requirements for the College of Arts and Sciences. UVA officials hope the plan will attract a wider range of students to the university.
