Joyce Jones, a former administrator at Augusta State University, has been named the University System of Georgia’s first vice chancellor for student affairs. Her appointment is effective Aug. 15. The new position, reclassified from associate vice chancellor, has greater authority in dealing with student issues and policies for the 318,000 students enrolled in USG’s colleges and universities.
A native of Texas, Jones earned a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, and received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Texas Woman’s University.
