Earlier this month, China and the U.S. agreed to extend terms for short-term visas, which include student visas. The agreement came during President Barack Obama’s state visit.
The U.S. Department of State said that Chinese students and dependents who hold F, M or J visas now are eligible for multiple-entry visas. Those visas are valid up to five years or the length of their program.
U.S. students going to China will be eligible for residency permits that will be good for up to five years.
