A bill sent to the governor of Utah could overturn a ban on guns on the University of Utah campus. The Utah legislature overwhelmingly passed the bill, which would prohibit local authorities from restricting gun ownership and usage within the state without first obtaining approval from the state legislature. The university’s no-gun policy has been in effect for about 30 years. It is not yet clear whether the governor will sign the bill into law. UGA similarly prohibits guns on campus.
