“Hunker Down with Housing” is looking for faculty and staff volunteers. As an early move-in initiative sponsored by University Housing, “Hunker Down” helps to ease the congestion and confusion of move-in weekend. This year the program will take place from Aug. 10–12.
Interested faculty and staff may volunteer for any time allotment between Aug. 10 and Aug. 12; however, more volunteers will be needed on Aug. 10 and Aug. 12, a Friday and Sunday, respectively. Volunteers greet new students and their families, answer questions, give directions to parking lots and venues surrounding campus and assist in various other move-in activities. A training session for all volunteers will be held on Aug. 9 from 6–8 p.m. in the Tate Student Center Theater.
