A San Francisco Business Times article about Wachovia being acquired by Wells-Fargo quoted Jim Verbrugge, banking professor emeritus at UGA.
“This won’t be like the Bank of America deal in the 1990s where the barbarians of North Carolina came storming to the West Coast,” said Verbrugge. “In this case, the West Coast will be brought into Atlanta.”
