Whit Gibbons, professor of ecology at the Savannah River Ecology Lab, was named a 2005 Outdoor Book award winner in the nature guidebook category for Snakes of the Southeast, which he co-authored with Mike Dorcas.
The National Outdoor Book Awards is sponsored by the NOBA Foundation, the Association of Outdoor Recreation and Idaho State University. The awards recognize and encourage outstanding writing and publishing.
