A graduate of Yale University and his wife recently donated $50 million to the institution to create an institute of global affairs to prepare students for diplomatic and public-service careers, The Chronicle of Higher Education reported.
The institute, made possible by a gift from John and Susan Jackson, will house the university’s international relations program and a placement office. University officials said the institute is scheduled to open in fall 2010.
