Terry College hosts information systems leadership conference at UGA

ATHENS, Ga. – The Center for Information Systems Leadership (CISL) at the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business will host SIGLead Conference 2004, a conference on information systems leadership on April 16-17.

SIGLead is the Special Interest Group on Information Systems Leadership for the Association for Information Systems, an international organization for academics specializing in information systems research. Speakers scheduled for the conference include Allan Alter, executive editor of CIO Insight; Elaine Mitchell, CIO of Atlanta United Way; Victor Nilson, vice president of IT application and delivery at Cingular; and Detlev Smaltz, CKO for the U.S. Office of the Surgeon General.

Academics from several leading universities will present papers and participate in panel discussions on such subjects as IT leadership, CIO effectiveness and knowledge sharing. Elena Karahanna and Richard T. Watson of the Terry College’s MIS Department will serve as conference chairs.

Registration is $75 for Ph.D. students and $100 for all others. Fee includes dinner on Friday evening and lunch and refreshments on Saturday.
