Athens, Ga. – Holley Schramski, who has been in the University of Georgia business services division for nearly 11 years, has been named associate vice president and controller, effective Sept. 1, 2004. Schramski began her employment at UGA in August of 1993 as an accountant II in banking and trust. She has risen through the ranks to become associate vice president and controller, replacing George Stafford who served as controller but will now focus his attention more exclusively on auxiliary and administrative services.
“Holley was selected from a pool of very talented candidates and brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role,” said Hank Huckaby, senior vice president for finance and administration. “We are fortunate to have an employee with her credentials and talent among our ranks. We expect a seamless transition and are delighted to have Holley in the role of associate vice president and controller. We are also grateful to George for his years of service as controller and associate vice president for auxiliary and administrative services. He will continue to be a very valuable member of the leadership of the Finance and Administration Division in his role as associate vice president for auxiliary and administrative services.”
As controller, Schramski will oversee fiscal operations, which include accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, student accounts, contracts and grants, payroll, expenditure control, procurement and property control.
“I look forward to using my talents to continue successful operations in our division,” said Schramski. “This is a demanding role and I am grateful for the challenge.”
A certified public accountant, Schramski worked for Arthur Andersen and Company in Cincinnati before coming to UGA. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in accounting from the University of Florida.
