UGA’s Office of Information Security launches redesigned Web site

Athens, Ga. – A new look and a design toward easy access to information characterize the new Web site from the Office of Information Security at the University of Georgia. Visitors to the site, located at www.infosec.uga.edu, will find current news on information security, UGA policies, training opportunities and much more.

“Information Security organizations must deliver relevant and needed security skills and competency through policies, technology, security awareness, training and education programs that integrate all [security skills and competencies] into a common body of knowledge and deliver that message in multiple formats and media,” said Stanton Gatewood, UGA’s chief information security officer. “The UGA InfoSec Web site is just one way to get the message to the masses.”

As with any well-designed Web site, the message and its related content must be easy to find, easy to access and up-to-date. The webmaster for the Office of Information Security Web site has employed a number of modern Web technologies to establish and maintain the quality of the site.

“I am excited about the new UGA Office of Information Security Web site being able to further our outreach to the university and beyond by increasing awareness and promoting our many functions,” said Christopher Street, designer of the Web site. “I look forward to the site growing and serving as the central information security repository for all students, faculty, staff and visitors.
