Nominations are being accepted for President’s Fulfilling the Dream Award

Nominations are being accepted for the President’s Fulfilling the Dream Award, which recognizes individuals in the UGA and Athens-Clarke County communities who have worked to make Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream of equality and justice a reality. Nominations are due Sept. 27.

Recipients of the President’s Fulfilling the Dream Award will be recognized at the 17th annual MLK Freedom Breakfast, which will be held on Jan. 17 at 8 a.m. in the Grand Hall of the Tate Student Center. Award winners demonstrate commitment to volunteerism and civic engagement in addressing critical community issues; utilize King’s philosophy to reduce tensions, resolve conflict and foster goodwill; and apply King’s teachings to build bridges of understanding and unity.

The MLK Freedom Breakfast, which is sponsored by UGA, the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government and the Clarke County School District, commemorates King’s life and legacy.
