Activities fair encourages student involvement in clubs and organizations

Athens, Ga. – The University of Georgia Center for Student Organizations will hold its annual winter activities fair on Jan. 30 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Tate Student Center Grand Hall. The fair is designed to encourage students to become involved in campus clubs and organizations.

Nearly 140 of the university’s 637 registered student organizations will staff booths at the fair in order to provide information and recruit new members. Admission is free, and the fair is open to students, faculty, staff and members of the Athens community.

Joshua Podvin, senior coordinator of the CSO, says students who are actively involved in campus organizations will find their experiences at the university to be more successful.

“Studies in the field of student affairs suggest that students who find a balance between their academic pursuits and time spent working with student organizations ultimately report higher levels of satisfaction with their college careers,” he explains.
