Angela Gibney, an assistant professor of mathematics in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, received $110,613 from the National Science Foundation to investigate the nature of moduli spaces. Moduli spaces are geometric spaces whose individual points also represent geometric objects. The research has applications to higher moduli mathematical theory, as well as potential applications in birational geometry, topology and physics.
