Hardcover: $55

The Georgia Museum of Art’s hardcover catalog for one of its recent exhibitions, Icon of Modernism: Representing the Brooklyn Bridge, 1883-1950, is available for purchase.

The exhibition, which closed Dec. 11, focused on the Brooklyn Bridge as a symbol of modernity and included nearly 40 paintings, works on paper and photographs by major American and European artists, borrowed from private and public collections across the U.S.

The catalog includes scholarly essays by Sarah Kate Gillespie, the art museum’s curator of American art and organizer of the exhibition; Janice Simon, Meigs Distinguished Associate Professor of Art History at UGA’s Lamar Dodd School of Art; Kimberly Orcutt, the Andrew W. Mellon Curator of American Art at the Brooklyn Museum; and Meredith Ward, director of Meredith Ward Fine Art.

All images in the exhibition are reproduced full page in full-color and many supplementary images flesh out the discussions.
